![]() Keeping On Moving With many remaining uncertain about the future, we're getting on with it the best we can manage, with thanks to a committed team of Volunteers, boosting our capacity to deliver. Whilst the Redfest 2021 was postponed (TBC), we connected with Sonder Spoken Word to create a new open mic night with featured performers, generally themed WHAT NOW (considering New Normal), but with elemental themes. But not without our Team, consisting of volunteers. (see more photos on Instagram) - We've been operating mainly as a core proactive team, including Nell and Trasi. Coming out of Lockdown, while Trasi Louis has been refining her hosting talent, Nell Lewis, also starred in a vigil for George Floyd, (a controversial figure) but in the name of BLM, and a fund raiser with UJIMA RADIO (Sept 4th 2021).
(Race Conference - 2021)Not forgetting to mention that we remain involved with BHM activity, this year in the shape of curating live lyrical and spoken word performers, with InI ONENESS, Fellow Dread, and Bristol Reggae Orchestra accompaniment, which (although currently a limited access event) we hope becomes a wider reaching prospect and resource. We'll keep you posted.
Further, MOGUL MAGAZINE HIGHLIGHT UWC (During Lockdown) - Early 2021, with a candid interview with founder member (Shaun Clarke) about where UWC stand, existing challenges, and the highs and lows of an entrepreneurial movement. Thanks to Charmaine and the Mogul Team. https://www.instagram.com/urbanwordcollective/
